Optics Theory - This forum is aimed towards the TECHNICAL side of photographic OPTICS THEORY. There will be some overlap by camera/manufacturer, but this forum is for the heavy duty tech discussions. This is NOT the place to discuss a specific lens or lens line, do that in the appropriate forum. This is the forum to discuss optics or lenses in general, to learn about the tech behind the lenses and images. IF you have a question about a specific lens, post it in the forum about that type of camera, NOT HERE.

Bokeh-balls with a white dot in the middle are characteristic for both the Summilux 50mm f/1.4 v1 and the Summilux 35mm f/1.4 steel rim.

thank you very much Erik! After giving in, a few photos "long", to the notion that photos that mostly feature bokeh aren't worthy I thought it's time for a comeback of this, yet another possibility of photography

Summilux R 80mm f1.4 shot wide open on the Leicaflex SL2. Kodak Tmax at box speed in Tmax 1:4. Missile, Explosion Museum. Just the tip in focus, with the smoothest transition to OOF.

Very good Alberti - he has a future!

Leicaflex SL2, Summilux R 80mm f1.4 wide open, with 4 stop ND filter on Tmax at 200 Perceptol 1:2. I've only ever had this flare before when using the ND filter, but that might be confusing cause and effect, so I'll investigate further.

Thanks for including lens ID info and aperture used if available! Since this thread is a technical one, in the Optics and Lenses forum, the ability to associate the picture appearance to the lens that produced it is the main point.
