In any case, you're right, tone is hard to interpret over the internet. Apologies for any offence taken where none was intended.

Thanks, no offence taken; I just wanted to clear up any misunderstanding...

200 has the look that Fuji intended.

I'm curious as to why so many people think that ISO ratings for film is 'incorrect'.
The mfgs who make the stuff know much more about what they are doing than end users! If this was a true 160 film, Fuji would label it as such.

What the end user can do is use that as a baseline, and then expose for their desired results.
I find for consumer C41 films it's either down to an ambitions box speed and/or a narrower latitude for under exposure that leads to the tell tale muddy shadows.

If you spot meter for the shadows at box speed then you're usually fine. Average or matrix metering then I'd probably want to rate it at a lower ISO.
Hence the question about the true box speed - Ideally the box speed should be what you're metering the mids for, not the shadows.

Either way, I'm giving it a go at ISO160 in my F4.

Thank you, I'd been jumping from incident light readings to in camera exposuring. This is from the former and I ended up reducing reducing the exposure in lightroom by 1.4 stops!

Quite excited to get my roll of C200 back now, took a number of street portraits on it - if they turn out as nice as some of the portraits on this page I'll be very happy

This thread made me buy color chemicals and a couple dozen rolls. Can’t wait to see what results I get. Hopefully as nice as some of these!

Lovely family, Colton! I think your daughter has your smile.

p.s. Is that a Pentax 6x7 on your t-shirt?

Some shots back from my first roll of C200 and quite impressed. Colours are saturated, but without being overly so. Grain is quite fine.
It's sharp 'enough'. Nowhere near as sharp as something like Ektar/Portra/Fuji Pro, but then at a third of a cost of those films you can't really complain...

Nikon F4, 50mm f1.8 af-d and 35mm f2.8 ai. C200 shot at 160ISO.

Yes it is a 67. That was our team shirt for the annual Walk To Defeat ALS a few years ago.Every year we do a new shirt. For the past 3 years we put one of my camera drawings on the front.

Great results, especially for a first roll! The reds on the last one really stand out, yet aren't garish.

Just got a promo email from Freestyle, and they have 24-exposure rolls of C200 for sale, $2.50/ea if you buy 50 or more, or $2.79/ea if you buy fewer than 50:
