So, I decided to buy the Canonet QL19. It is a rather nice little camera.
The chap I bought it from said as far as he was aware it had never been CLA'd, but he'd used it and there were no problems as far as he could tell.

Haven't put a film through yet, but apertures and shutter speeds all seem to work ok. The ASA dial is a bit stiff, but no big issue on that.
The self timer doesn't work (well, it begins to work, then sticks), but other than that it seems to work...
...except when I look through the VF I see, on the right hand side, the various apertures listed, but nothing seems to be telling me which to use (of course I don't need it, I'm just wondering). Any thoughts? It may just be a dead battery, but otherwise I'm unsure.

If you put a battery in the needle indicates the aperature when you select ''A'', I thought it should also show the aperature in manual mode as well but memory fails me, does it?

Noel, I'm guessing I have a dead battery. PX625 if I'm not mistaken.
I know I can get one through work, but currently am in the States so that's a bit difficult.
Will see if I can find one.

I will put a test roll through as and when possible.
