Actually i have a Bessa R3A, but I am very interessted in an RD1s. I live in Germany and don´t know a serious store ore webstore to buy such great gadget. May be is there anybody who wants to sell his cam? It´ll be nice to here of you !!

I bought mine there. Realy great to deal with. But the custom will take it and you have to pay duty 25 %.

I also bought it at matsuiyastore and did'nt pay the 22% spanish duty. Tell Noriaki to send it as a gift with a lower declared price, was himself that recommended me that way.
Nice guy!

Risky i must say. Penalties can be up to 100% of the amount of VAT and customs duties evaded. Also the lower declared value will be the same for insurance. Hardly a deal in case of loss or damage needless to say.

Lightning fast service from the Matsuiyastore.
I'm a week into owning the very nice R-D1s. I ordered it on a Sunday night, and the post office was trying to deliver it the following Thursday here in the New York City area! That's about as fast as I would get it from B&H (which doesn't have it) which is 10 miles from me.

How big an enlargement can we do effectively with this cam using Leica lens? I thought they did not make the RD-1s anymore? what gives?

tks, P

I will throw another shovel full of praise on Matsuiyastore. I bought my R-D1s and a Zeiss lens from them in May, '08. Excellent communication, fast shipping ... overall very good experience.

I bought mine from i-Qju on eBay. Not trying to be different, but Qju replied to my message on day before MATSUIYASTORE...the price was close and I was a bit desperate away from home....

Qju didn't lower the price on the invoice for me. He also mentioned the heavy penalty once caught by the French Custom. Luckily the package went through unchecked and I saved myself the VAT expense.

The shipping was very fast. About 4 days after I clicked on "Buy It Now", from Japan to France.

Do remember to buy two more batteries and several 2G SD cards! You'll be shooting in the RAW mode a lot if you're not satisfied with the white balance setting....

snagged one yesterday from MATSUIYASTORE to see what the hype is all about. shipped this AM. I think my 28mm/2.8 ASPH will go well here (for me).

wish me luck.
