i have searched but to no avail, for FREE manuals for old canon rf cameras. (esp. the p model)

does anyone have a site tthat i can be directed to?

i did find a site that has exactly what i want but they want 12 bucks u.s. and i would rather buy more film with that money.

as usual, any and all help appreciated.

joe

I do not know of what you seek, but here are some few resources that I do know about:

The Canon FD Documentation Project

Canon EOS Documentation Project

Canon Camera Museum (also contains RF cameras)

F and S Marriott Camera Documentation (not free)

I have found much of this to be very useful. There are others who have purchased manuals over the years, scanned them, and who now sell that information to others, as you have found.

An alternative would be to seek manuals from the community, scan them, and put them online for free (free to others, actually at your own expense). This is what the users of the Canon FD Documentation Project have done.

One would want to pay attention to copyright expirations - when the copyrights expire, one can reproduce the information, as I understand it (I am not a lawyer, this is not legal advice). Or you could contact Canon and see if they can help you out (or release copyright to you if you wanted to publish the docs for free).

Hope you find this helpful!

Joe, I'm surprised you didn't know Mike Butkus's site -- we need to make this guy an honorary member of RFF or something. His site is really valuable.

i had 3, now have none.

rover has one of mine but icr now who bought the others.

I smile whenever I see an old thread come back for a visit.

Yes, I do have one of the famous Canon Ps, and I will be hanging on to it. Funny, when I started looking at these RF cameras I quickly found Stephen's site, and it seemed apparent to me that the P was a camera that I thought I would really like. It is. That and the Canon L1 were both on my list as cameras I "wanted." I am fortunate now to have both.
