Hi all, I post here some shots I made two weeks ago with my Zeiss Ikon Nettar IIb from 1949: the lens is a Novar Anastigmat, and the film is Ilford FP4 125 iso (scan by ePSON v500).
I hope you'll enjoy them

Nice! I like the last one the best, great detail...........Robin

dido!!! This makes me look more warmly at one of the ebay items I'm looking at (a Super Ikonta 3 with Novar).

Very nice spiderfrank! Now I'm really looking forward to the Nettar that is coming my way.

Welcome to the Nettar world, Direwolf !!
This little and simple camera is a joy to use, very quite and able to give great images. Of course you must guesstimate a lot of things, but it's part of the game, I'm sure you'll enjoy it

I have an Ikonta with the Novar. I don't think it takes pictures like the ones posted.

Don't mind me, it's probably the photographer.

Beautiful! the last color picture (boats) is wonderful.

I have a Nettar that may be similar to yours. They are very light and convenient once you get used to guessing distances. The Novar lens is much better than you would guess, especially below f/5.6

How do you distinguish the different Netar models besides taking note of the lens and shutter type?

I found in Internet a data-sheet with all the Nettar models divided by name and year of production, based on the shutter and lens type. From that sheet I know that my camera was produced in 1949, and is called Nettar IIb or "Signal" Nettar from the sistem used to avoid the double exposures. Every camera model is identified also by a number on the body.

In addition to lens and shutter differences, the bodies in all three series, 645, 66, 6X9 varied. These variations included viewfinder (collapsible frame and optical) and provisions for
reducing unintentional double exposures and blank shots (none and different types).

The bodies models are known by three digit number and a single or double digit number signifying format.

How are you able to post the pictures so big? What scanner are you using and are you using any special film holder to get the film flatter on the scanner bed?
