Hello!
i'm currently at the edge of buying one, because i am really tired of always taking my handheld-meter with me.
The "problem" is, i always used ambi light metering - and as far as i know, such a vc meter II is some kind of a spot meter, right?

Anyone got some experience when switching the way of metering the light? Difficulties? Just asking, because i am in fear ;) of totally miss-metering my shots, and i don't have the possibility to test one...

Would be glad if one could help me with his/her experience concerning this, or if the vc meter II is just perfect.
Thanks!
Tim

It is not a spot meter. According to the information on cameraquest, it reads a field of about 30 degrees. I use mine all the time, and have always been happy with it. It's easy to use and accurate.

I borrowed Robin's VCII when I traveled to Syria a few months ago. The light conditions were very challenging for photography, but the VCII did very well in guiding me through it.

Depending on the camera that is hosting it, the VCII sometimes slips out of the hot shoe quite easily.
