W/NW Cats

Chris must be German Shepherds, it was one that caused Oskar to leave home, after he left a wound needing four stitches on its nose. The dog is now terrified of cats!!:D

LOL. Well my fat orange cat, Simba (pictured early in the thread) was living with my parents in Indiana when I was in New Mexico. While I was off in Santa Fe, my parents got a Great Pyrenees dog. It is HUGE. Simba drives the dog away from her food and steals it! This is a fat, lazy, 14 yr old cat. He was never mean or aggressive before, but that dog and the jealousy it awakened in him made him into a greedy, meanspirited, evil kitty. The dog could eat him for a snack, but she's afraid of the cat!

This is our kitty

We call him Kitty, but the shelter had given him then name of Gilligan, so we use that name sometimes as well. Here's a photo of him about 6 months ago. He's about a year old now, and we're just starting to let him go outside, and he will usually come back by himself.

He likes to play rough, I've got quite a few cuts on my hands from his teeth, and we have a lot of torn up clothes, speaker grilles, etc. from him.

He also likes to play tag, and hide and seek. From nowhere he will come up and pounce and bop you on the head, then run away again.

Ben, ginger and gingerly, is about 10 years old. He came from a foster home in 2003 and took him two years to get used to us and the house. He's probably the most photographed cat in my family history.

Here he is, asking us to open the door into the house.

And here you see his first foray in the snow. Both pics were my avatars at some time.

Of course, both are RF photos. ;)

On October 2006, my boss's dog found a kitten in her backyard. She brought it to the office. I picked her up, she bit my thumb and then licked it. That just about sealed her fate. Her name was initially going to be Leica, but my wife objected to it. I proposed then Musetta (a character in the opera La Bohéme) but that was objected too... We settled on Mimí (another character from the same opera), because she was found at night and her paws must have been very cold (she survived a below zero night!).

Needless to say, since her early days she showed her character.

And, of course, she objected to being picked up from an early age...

Now, she's a very dignified, fixed and spunky young lady (sorry, all these shots are SLR's).

There you go. This thread is really fun!

BTW, HERE is my report on Mimí at RFF, some time ago...

Clock Eye

Clock Eye

I HATE CATS. But my kid loves them. Here's one of three of his.

(I save my critter love for dogs and tortoises.)
