Hi,

I regularily use a NIKONS II and III on the street with the amphibious 35 mm f2.5 and I find these are rock solid cameras delivery sharp pictures.
Is anybody using those outside water as zone focus Rangfinders?

Cheers and Good light to all.

Yes, and I have for many years. Solid and fun and different. I set the aperture to f8 and use 100 slide film at anywhere from 1/30 to 1/125 depending on the light. I also use 400 b&w film on dark rainy days-it is the perfect rainy day rangefinder camera. I have both II and III cameras. I also have the rare LW 28 lens which is designed for only out-of-water use.

I got a Nikonos III last year and it's a delightful camera to use. I bought it to use at the beach but find it wonderful for many things. I found an old article that Roger Hicks had done on the Nikonos and it convinced me to buy one. Lots of fun and great optics too. Highly recommended. Joe

I use my V out of the water

I take my Nik V on every vacation and use it under, on top, and out of the water. I think the lens is very sharp and I have found that surprisingly the zone focusing isn't too difficult.

I also have a Nik II which I think I need to play around with out of the water as well.

Anybody use the 80mm lens?

Anybody use the 80mm lens?

For those that do use their Nikonos cameras out of the water, do any of you use the 80mm lens? I've been thinking of getting one but have heard the focusing is more difficult because of the shallower depth of field.

I love mine and I use it more out of the water than in, same setup as yours.
