Free Kodak Expired Film from Kodak/Flickr - Limited Time/Amount

Doesn't look like I got lucky but then I guess being in England put them off :)

Still, it's the least they could do seeing as they've lost a roll of Kodachrome of mine...

I'll add my thanks to Bill - just got the aforementioned email the other day. Let's go shooting!

Cheers,

Got mine today. Most of it is not too far out of date (02/09 or 12/08) but 2 rolls are date 2006. They also threw in an 11th roll... Ektar 100.

And so, it came to pass that, 30 minutes ago, I was in the middle of a serious shave (had no time this morning, and the heat gave me an excuse for a second shower, so...), when the doorbell rang. I thought that there was a 75% chance it was a political canvasser, a 15% chance it was Galfriend's younger son who might have forgotten his keys (again), and a 10% chance it was Mighty UPS Man with my Kodak package in hand. I grab a pair of swim trunks and a towel, race down two flights of stairs, and...nobody. Then I look down and see The Package. Slim odds, but who cares?

Race back upstairs, finish my shave. Get ready to rip the package open when the doorbell rings again. Slightly more "decent" already, I race down again. Yes, it's a political canvasser, talking up a candidate I kinda-sorta like but won't commit to just yet (primaries here are on Sept. 15), but I chat for about two minutes, then race back upstairs.

I have the package back in my hot little hands when ripoenus interruptus strikes again with a phone call from aforementioned younger son of GF. Wants to come up to pick up his MacBook Pro and see what's for dinner. I say "sure", he makes his way over within a few minutes, retrieves foodstuffs and his Mac, and heads back out.

I grab the package, mockingly look both ways, then quickly tear the thing open (well, as quickly as I can...UPS doesn't do quick-open on anything not made of cardboard, it seems). Talk about a haul:

Brick of Portra samples, and Ektar! (Portra dated 10/08)

I swear, someone in Rochester can read my mind (or has a damned good memory...I don't know which is scarier ;)). All my new Portra goes in the back o' the 'fridge while I work my way through this.

(And...did those of you who got your package get the promo sheet for Ektar with one of Damsao's floral pics on it? Sweet!)

Big thanks to the big K (and, again, to Bill).

Raid: Great to see you here! Hope all's good down that way.

memphis: did you get a brick of "SAMPLE" Portra 160 NC like I did? Just curious...looks like Rochester didn't get around to handing out all the Portra sample packs they had in time. (This is the new-formulation stuff that came out last year, for anyone here not in the loop.)

I just found my film on the carport, 10 36 frame 160VC and a roll of Ektar 100. I shoved it into the freezer until I can finish up a roll in my F1N, hopefully in a few days and make a few outings to see what it can do.

I'm also thinking that a roll or two through an Electro 35 might be fun, that lens seems to give wonderful existing light results, judging to colour photographs I've seen on these pages. I might as well try the IIIc with FSU lenses too.

Who here has shot the Ektar 100 film and how did you like it?

Eli

got mine today. thank god i didn't get a brick of 160nc samples, i've got 600 feet of it in my fridge. Instead i got 7 400vc and nc rolls and 3 160nc and vc rolls. (and the ektar). This is great cause I'm really short on 400 speed kodak professional film.
