Yikes! I mean that in the nicest way, of course.

I can see past the missing vulcanite but I do wonder how much rust it must have internally.
 
That's how a screw mount Leica looks like if you peel away the vulcanite. I have one that looks exactly like it.

But what does this have to do with the title "stay away from Ebay"? - did you buy the camera without a photo or was it not properly advertised there?

It simply Means If you do not stay away from Ebay your going to[ Spend Money, Honey:] sorry it rimed [LOL] thats all it means have a good day:
 
Get it CLA'd and use as-is, no cosmetic make-over... :D

Does it function at all ?



And, yes, e-Bay will "make" you buy things you never knew you didn't need...

Lets put it this way I got the camera knowing it need to overhauled and got a 50mm F:2 summar with it and a 85mm Culminar 1:2.8 VL it came with Leica front and rear Caps I got all three for under 190.00 dollars which works out to about $64.00 each : But the question will be what will the over haul going to run since I've seen those rusted screws ? No internal rust showing when you open the bottom to put film it !
