Is it really that funny? I didn't get the joke and I doubt I would take anything seriously from this douche ever again

Every idiot on the net (and there are way to goddamn many of them) insists on posting stupid hoaxes on April 1st. I knew it was fake the first day people here started acting all excited about it

I'm bemused. So much ado. So much ado...

It appears to me that this prank was meant for a smaller audience than it received and perhaps Mr. Ascough underestimated his influence in the online world. The outright anger this has provoked is, in my opinion, uncalled for. However it has been a fun little ride to watch the drama unfold.

Here, for your amusement is perhaps a more lighthearted April Fools Joke...

Bored or oblivious?

Either. I voted "oblivious". I'd barely heard of Ascough (I'm neither British nor married) and I don't twitter. The reaction is cool though. "How dare you joke about a camera!"

I imagine there is only one 'unhappy' vote because they are all boycotting the internet today.

I don't think Ascough has any influence in the online world. What it shows is the power of the Internet and how passionate people can be about their hobbies.

Still, it had no impact on my life. I still had to get up, go to work and worry about 100 other substantive things (how to pay for a new roof, how to get the dogs to stop chewing stuff, how to handle four big events on Sunday, etc.)

It was amusing, however, as people quickly decided what product would be released and who would be making it.

Are that many people actually angry about it? I know I personally thought it was a bit lame of a April Fool's joke, especially since it seemed like many dismissed it before April 1st had even arrived. It didn't seem to have anything particularly funny or preposterous. There just wasn't much to it, just a fake camera rumor. It seemed dubious from the beginning and played out as expected. Then again, I never get worked up or really believe camera rumors (or any others from the internet).

But there's a big difference between that and being angry. Or even really caring. I like Kodak's Photocheese more.
