anyone else get random black streaks through their images? this occasionally happens when i use the m8 with pocket wizard strobes..

i do have the latest firmware.

The problem is a strong light source coming from the front and located on the side of the photo. The red light on the left is in a position that causes this colour streak.

Edit: oh. yes. My M8 has this problem too

All M8 cameras will do this All it takes is a strong highlight on the edge of the image.

I've read about this, but have not experienced it.

It seems to mess up the edge pixels used to calibrate the image. Weird.

It took me 12000 shots to see it on mine, and even then I had to provoke it, so it depends on your kind of shooting. In general it is pretty rare.

It is common with the M8. But out of 20,000+ shots it has only happened to me about three times. Don't worry about it too much. It happens when you have a light source at the edge of the frame. And it is finicky. I've tried to reproduce it and failed.

i can provoke it easily but it only happens at night with strobes.

if you see the kind of work i do, i guess i shouldn't be using the m8 and moving on to the m9 which i plan to when the price comes down a bit.

Never got this on my M8 although taking many pics in museums with some bad spotlights at times. However I know that theory says it may occur with CCD sensors (not with CMOS), if I recall it is a problem of saturation of electronic charges etc. and it will leave a horizontal dark band on the lines where the light is. I was warned against this by a friend physicist before I bought my M8 but did never get the effect, even with the sun in the field of view.
