Are you ready? I'm ready! Fed 2 & Leningrad 6 light meter! Lets see yours!

Behold the mighty tractor. Darn thing is bigger than many SLRs with that lens. Yes, I know it's missing one screw. Will plug the hole with some suitable kolkhoz soil.

Still MIA: Lens mount shims and take-up spool. Improvisation will have to save the May quota.

I only wish I did have some Kodachrome, not just a decorative case.

Zorki 4 - Jupiter 8
Zorki 1C - Industar 22
Kiev 60 - Arsat 30
Kiev 88 - Mir 45

Cheers!
Gary

Gary that Kiev 88 is one beautiful MF camera. I'd love to have one!

Greg, That one was my first MF camera, it has the old screwmount lens mount which differs from my Kiev 60. The camera has a really unique feel to it, especially with that Mir 45 lens, like I'm holding some small projectile of some sort.

FED-S with FED 50/2.0 Summar clone and uncoupled FED 100/6.3

The top plate on this camera was ground flat and it was rechromed, ready to be engraved as a 'Leica' before the forgers noticed it was a FED-S. Yuri at Fedka has CLA'd it and confirmed its authenticity. It's smooth as butter now.

I'll be shooting the Military shot on Liberation Day, May 5th.

EDIT: the book in the back is 'A Russian Journal' by John Steinbeck, with pictures on Russia by Robert Capa. The two of them travelled Russia in 1947.

Johan, congrats for finding the elusive "Komandirsky" FED. I can see that it has got 1/1000s shutter speed. Isn't that something!

Btw. I recently read the "A Russian Journal". I recommend it for anyone who is interested in Capa. It tells more about him as a person than his own book "Slightly Out of Focus" which I also like very much.

I was shooting today with this one:

Decision, decisions...well the Kiev 4A and Zenith C are the only two with film in them at present. Being an SLR, I guess the Zenith would be not quite right so I guess the Kiev wins (at the moment).

I was thinking I'd use my J-11 for some shots for the contest but I can't find my turret finder:bang:.
I am afraid it didn't make it through the fire I had earlier this year.
For general shooting, I can work around not having that finder, but for this "FSU" only exercise, I am now limited to 50mm. Not that much of a limit, really, but still it's annoying.
And I'm pretty sure I'll be spending rather more on the replacement than I spent the first time around.

My FED replacement will be shipped tomorrow from fedka.
Getting a late start, but that is OK. Will post a pic of kit soon after arrival ...
