Hi - need recommendation please. Do you guys use any protective covering on your M viewfinders? I am used to RD1 which due to a slightly recessed finder window didn't smudge often. I smudge the M8 viewfinder all the time, leading to a really blurry image.

Do you put any kind of protector on? For example on my iphone I have a protector that is much more smudge resistant than the original glass. Any recommendations for a company that makes protective covers that are sized exactly for the M viewfinders? I'd rather not cut it out myself

thanks!

i love it :) the answer for a badly designed $5k camera is learn to take care. i love leica as much as the next guy, but we give them too many excuses, imho. i'm pretty sure i've seen somewhere a mention of a viewfinder protector screen. can't find by googling though...

Try a screen protector for an Ipod. Cut it to size(obviously).
It took me a long time to learn not to pick up the camera from the left side. It's just a habit to make or break.
The design's been around for more than 50 years, must be poorly designed.

lcd protective film cut specifically for various rangefinder cameras.

not a bad idea...i could use the money. :D

If you put a protective cover on it, then you just smudge the protective cover.

I think the thing is to grasp the camera by the sides and not by the top deck.
