I would like to post larger photos in my posts but always get thumbs. I followed the instructions in the FAQ and used the "advanced" setting in posting.
I assume I should be using an HTTP code or bracket withing the post (<{[>]])
It would save time for the viewer if he/she did not have to click on the thumb.
If someone would post the correct methid I wouold appreciate it.
I did google the subject but got way more information than I could decipher.:bang:

Thanks

I use this format, but of course all on the same line and without spaces.

[ URL =
url of photo page at flickr etc.]
url of actual photo at flickr etc.
[ /IMG]
[ /URL]

I think you get the thumb if you upload it as an attachment, and the full size image in the post if you hotlink to the image on another server. The pic below is on my website, I just used RFF's image code to hotlink it.

Ok I figured it out. You cannot put the webpage address for the page the image sits on in the IMG code, you need the actual server location of the image itself. To get that, right click the picture itself and choose COPY IMAGE ADDRESS. Thats on a Mac in Safari, in windows or a different Mac browser the actual command may be different. Paste that image address you copied into the image code on the forum.

Yay that's working. Go to the large picture page on picture, right-click, information on picture. Use the indicated URL with "img" and that's it. Pretty happy to have found it at last!

For large size images from my RFF gallery, what works for me is to copy the URL of the thumbnail from my gallery, click on the 'image' button in the message creation dialogue, paste the URL of the thumbnail, then edit out the part of the address that says 'thumbs/' Here is the result from my m4/3 gallery:

This will work until the underlying software is changed...

Checking to see if I got this right, copied it straight out of Flickr:
