I have to admit, I hate the plastic focussing tabs on the Leitz lenses. I had the tab come lout on one side of my 21/2.8 Elmarit. Instead of sending it in to be fixed, I used some crazy glue. Two years later and still going strong.

You can go crazy comparing two lenses this way. I took home some Zeiss for Nikon lenses the other day to try out on my D700 and at the end of just looking at file after file, and then looking at files from Nikon lenses I decided I really didn't care which was 'better' any more. I only cared about which I liked using more.

Exactly. That's why I sold the Biogon and keep shooting the summicron-c. It fits so well my hands and shooting habits. The Biogon isn't well balanced on a M in my opinion... optically it's a gem but it just didn't work for me.

yeah, I feel the same. zeiss doesn't feel good in my hands for they are either too long, or lack of tab, 1/3 stop.

I voted Biogon just because I've never used a Zeiss lens, just Leica and VC, everyone talks about the "pop" of focus on the Zeiss lenses, and I'd like to try for myself.

I was recently going to sell/trade my Biogon for a cron... threads like this make me glad I had second thoughts! I do love mine!

There are probably enough examples posted already, but here are a few more Biogon 35/2 shots (the first is on Tri-X, the remaining three are BW400CN):

Glad that this thread has been revived! I'm currently eyeing both lenses. But the used 35/2 Summicron Asph is nearly double the price of the brand new Biogon. Looking at the sample pics here and on Flickr, I can't, for the life of me, fault the Zeiss lens.
