The oil effect is more pronounced in Louisiana, and it is difficult to spot on Pensacola Beach. The chemical dispersant "made it all go away" like some wishful thinking magic powder. Seriously speaking, you can swim and enjoy it in Florida.

It started in January, when the beach I live by looked like this:

#3 - Morning beach:
(all of the above with Nikon D700, 1 & 2 is with Nikon 50/1.8E, the last is with Leica Summicron-R 50/2.
This is the beach this summer (Zeiss Ikon & Zeiss Biogon 35/2):
