Hello All,
I'm looking for a film scanner that is Intel-Mac comparable and reasonable priced (Under $300). Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations?

I've been using a Canon 8800F with good results. If I want more detailed scans I'll revert to my Nikon V.

Depends, if you're shooting medium format, then you'll want a flatbed, maybe an Epson V600? If you're shooting 35mm, check out the Plustek models, or get on eBay and look at the Minolta Dimage series.

If you get a second user scanner, check for compatibility with Vuescan, and also I'd make sure it's USB not SCSI, you can get adaptors, but it's likely more pain than it's worth.

I've had no problems with the Epson 4490. If you're looking for a reasonably priced flatbed, check out the Epson clearance store for a refurbished model.

I use a Nikon Coolcan V ED and it works quite well without any additional drivers with Vuescan. I'm just not sure what the going rate of the Coolscan is and if it will fit your budget.
