Anybody know who is the dude with the shades and 'stache? This image crops up a lot around DC. Of course, by asking this question I am probably just revealing how out of touch I am...

Anyway, from the alleyway at the Cosmos Club, Oly EP2, CV40/1.4 SC.

An old one, NYC corner of 2nd and Ave. A ca. 1986. This was the view out the window of my very favorite bar of all time.

yolk - nice! I especially like the second one. You can almost smell the paint looking at the images!

thanks ederek :)
love the layers and colors in your pic, they pop like crazy :)

Thanks Yolk! Graffiti pretty much cries for color and it's been my color release while focusing on B&W lately..

Didn't realize how long the graffiti cover-up has been going on in this same alley. Here's one from last April, 2010

So another Paste-Up. I've quoted the previous post from Harvard Square. This work is now gone, however there is another installation a couple blocks away.

barnwulf, it's interesting how some of this work is "going commercial".

Here are a couple snips of a wall at the Tannery in Harvard Square (Cambridge, MA) with a Shepard Fairey installation.

and this shows some of the layering affect created

A friend did a little digging and found this on flickr, showing the mural being put up in October 2008:
Paste-Up at Tannery

Will have to pull up some more of Faireys images from the Boston area. Also have some graffiti from a visit to Montreal this summer.
