Just took delivery of a nice M8.2 and went out at lunch for a test shot. The image below was the result. My setup was a uncoded 35 Summicron, Leica UV/IR filter and lens detection off. Should I be expecting such a deep and uniform cyan cast? I know others use 35's uncoded with success. Am I doing something wrong? Sharing of your expertise would be most appreciated, thanks in advance.

Looks like you have auto WB turned off or have the White Balance set to indoor light.

Ok, let's all say a big Duh! for me. Yes, it was set to manual, probably for indoor conditions. I've been so concerned with filter and coding issues I neglected to consider this most basic of basic settings. Thanks for hitting me over the head, I needed it.

This happens to my M8 every now and then too, even at 'auto' white balance setting. Simply shoot one more exposure and it corrects itself. My Canon 1Ds III, possibly with a slightly more reliable auto W/B function than my M8 outdoor, faults at setting the right W/B when indoor, with far too yellow cast as a result. Regardless, W/B is easily corrected by software afterwards if you shoot DNG.
Don't worry, be happy.
