really... why not --

i reacted because eggleston's iconic tricycle shot was taken in memphis.

"A lot o' people don't realize what's really going on. They view life as a bunch o' unconnected incidents 'n things. They don't realize that there's this, like, lattice o' coincidence that lays on top o' everything. Give you an example, show you what I mean: suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, "plate," or "shrimp," or "plate o' shrimp" out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconsciousness."

This thread has been a revelation to me. A couple of hours ago, honestly, I did not know who William Eggleston was. But after seeing many on-line examples of his work, and reviewing the photgraphs that I have taken that I like the most personally, it seems that I have been trying to emulate at least the feel of his stuff all along.

bill is my neigbor -- my tricycle shot was in the same basic area (certainly same zip code and similar neighborhood) as his - i get him - i could have posted any number of thousands of shots literally in his footsteps - they are in process of opening an eggelston museum here

Good Memphis should have a museum to its most important son:D, more than any book I refer back to the guide. It is in fact next to me at this very moment:angel:

Not at all familiar with the man's work. From looking at the photos in this thread, I may have been "doing" Eggelston without knowing it. Or am I way off base?
