First, let me say that I like this forum. I like most of the members, and it's generally a fun place. But I do NOT like the classifieds. What the heck is wrong w/ them? It has to be one of the most unintuitive things I've ever seen.
I've posted ads, but people can't PM me. So I got around that by putting in my email address in the ads, which I would really prefer not to do due to spam issues. I just tried the classifieds search function. It doesn't work. On the same page as the ads there's a Leica for sale. So I put in "Leica". It finds no results. Then I tried the last 7 days feature. It can't find any ads. Tried the last 14 days feature. Nope, no ads. I was able to find more ads only by clicking on the "all ads" and had to scroll through everything. Found an ad that interested me, looked up the seller in the members list (I know better than to try "contact seller". Maybe that works, maybe it don't), and PM'd them. Then I went back and couldn't find their ad! It was there just a few minutes ago.
It's just very frustrating and time consuming, and I don't understand why it's like this. OK, there's been some changes, but heck, it didn't work right before either. Hopefully someone will fix this at some point in time.

I have an ad up right now - and I know at least one person tried to send me a message, but it never came through.

Well, it seems that since the ads have changed the wanted titles hardly get any hits/traffic at all...............before they changed my wanted ads were getting tons of hits and I had quick reactions from people with items.

It's because there are now multiple PM systems within RFF. The classifieds has its own separate PM system. You can get there by clicking the following:
Classifieds (upper left link under gallery)
You will then be presented with a top bar that has the following options:
Forum My Ads My Watch List Subscriptions [ no messages ] Home Member List Search Profile Place An Ad
If I had new messages, where it says "[ no messages ]", you would see the heading for the new messages. You can also see your messages by clicking the "Profile" link.
