What are your 2011 Travel Plans?

I was in Egypt for a week with my familly when the revolution started in january. Got back the day before the tour operators in Sweden cancelled all trips to Egypt. Had a bonus ticket to Tokyo for later this month. That's cancelled now... I used the miles I had to get a trip to NY in may instead. Planning a trip tp Edinburgh and Islay this fall with some friends. Hope to do Tokyo next year if its still there...

I'm staying "home" this year after travelling to Europe and UK frequently in the past.
"Home" is a big place though! We're taking the caravan around the country.
Next month we head north to the Bluesfest music festival (Bob Dylan's first visit to Australia, B.B.King and lots more) that takes place each year over Easter.
Then we're heading across Queensland to stay in Kakadu, Darwin and arrive in Broome in time for the arrival of our first grandchild. Five weeks on Cable Beach! Then southwards to swim with the whale sharks at Ningaloo, the dolphins at Monkey Mia and at some stage in about four months' time we'll turn East and cross the Nullabor on our way home. That should all provide some opportunity for photography, even if "touristy" in nature.

Big plans for this Summer - after not much travel in recent years, we will be visiting

London
Paris
Rome

(possibly in reverse order)

In the past, I dreaded traveling, but now that I am shooting film all the time, I am actually looking forward to it! What a change.

Hoping to do Africa later this month.

Paris France try hard there not to takemy usual dull shots, Bruges for a couple of days. Three weeks in October.

Just booked a trip to northern Vietnam -- Halong Bay, Sapa, Hanoi. Then off to visit family back in Canada for Xmas time, Bali for Chinese New Year, Sri Lanka in April, as well as a healthy sprinkling of various nearby points in Malaysia and Indonesia between now and June, when I head to Canada for two months. Who knows after that. That's one of the major benefits of working overseas -- lots of great travel opportunities year after year!

I've already travelled a bit this year, i'm almost done with my planned trips
So far (all cities I had never seen)
Boston
Toronto
New York
San Francisco
Breda
Amsterdam
Brussels
Antwerp
Berlin
Paris (I have seen this one though)

Fairly traditional stuff, next year:
Buenos Aires
Panama
Shanghai
Seoul
Beirut

I'm off to Spain in October for 2 weeks. It will be Madrid and Seville with day trips to Cordoba, Granada, Toledo and Segovia. I can't wait.

Some interestingly exotic travel mentioned! Scorpius, hope you enjoy Spain! We visited Madrid and stayed longer near Málaga with day trips to Granada, Seville, Ronda, and Tangiers. But that wasn't this year...

In June we spent a week on the strip in Las Vegas, having fun exploring the fancy casinos and seeing a few theatre productions. M8 pics in Gallery. Then went on to Sedona Arizona for a more relaxing week, with a stop at the Grand Canyon. See DSLRX Gallery link.

This November we will be going to Maui for a couple of weeks, but will carry less gear.

Just back!

Just back!

Went to Kyiv for 10 days!

20th anniversary of Independence and more photo opportunities than one had both film and data cards.

Did my best though :)

Because of family reasons we cannot now travel for a long time. But we will drive to Tuscany next week for a few days.

Having visited Cambodia and North Vietnam earlier this year, we will go to Chiang Mai in Northern Thailand and then to Ho Chi Minh City in Southern Vietnam in December and January. I travel extensively for work: tomorrow I will be in Brunei and next week Kalimantan in Indonesia so I need to go somewhere different from remote sites. Living in South East Asia for the moment, travelling locally makes sense, and there is so much to see.

Istanbul next month- really looking forward to the trip. The struggle to decide which cameras to take has begun.
