Bay II accessories are a lot harder to find than other mounts it seems. I've only found this aftermarket hood and i'm not even sure it's the right one. anybody have experience with this hood? http://www.amazon.com/Rollei-Bay-2-Rolleiflex-Camera-Tessar/dp/B003G8MRDQ

it states it's for bay 2 in the title, but in the description is says '75mm 3.5 tessar models bay 1'. the mount doesn't look bay 1 at all. what am i missing? i'm looking for it to fit a 3.5e2 bay2

And you'll save a lot of money in the long run. Maybe even a Series VI adapter, if you already have a set of filters on hand. If not, they are readily available, sometimes in sets. And I would be aware of any seller who cannot get the details correct in their listing. Some even purposely mislead you into looking at their item by using a false description in the listing title, hoping you might check out their other items.

I've bought several Rollei accessories from Fotodiox (the source of the Amazon item) which fit without trouble on my Bay III and Bay IV Rolleis.
If you want the genuine Bay II article, go to the 'Bay and look for item # 110661570306

However, take a look at this page first. http://www.rolleiclub.com/cameras/tlr/info/A-F_tlr.shtml
You will find that there are variances in Bayonet size of the taking lens not only by lens aperture but also by lens manufacturer. You need to be sure which model your camera is as it could take either Bay I or Bay II. I think the scriptwriter for Amazon has probably got themselves confused because of this.
Most 2.8/80 take Bay III but some 2.8/75 take Bay II
Most 3.5/75 take Bay II but the "T" model takes Bay I

The 3.5 E2 Rolleiflex (both models) is listed as taking Bay II.

the adapters in the first place are around 35$, i'd rather just put that money towards a bay 2 hood (maybe $50 for a used one?) and a bay 2 rolleinar when i decide to pull the trigger for one. but point taken, i may decide just to go with the adapter for filters and everything. does the camera become more clunky with the adapter on the front? does it cover any part of the taking lens?

I bought one. It fits well and does the job. I'm still looking for a decent original in perfect condition, but even when I find it, I'll still use this cheapo hood when out and about.

Yes, for my 3.5F, I got the fotodiox hood you link to. I don't remember the mistakes that are in the current description - when I bought mine it was even more misleading. They did correct it after I pointed out the errors, but it looks like they put some more in on the way.
