Forum performance has been really bad for the last couple of days. Even worse than when tapatalk was supposedly causing problems.

Anything happening about it?

+1

graphical elements--icons, pictures, avatars, smileys--take ages to load with many simply timing out after a minute leaving red X blanks. occasionally, clicking on threads will time out, too--looks like about 1 in 10 HTTP requests eventually times out

I haven't experienced any timeouts lately but it's definitely sloowwwwww...

So obviously it was not just TapaTalk that is the problem. There are issues, and adding TapatTalk on top of these issues is not helpful. (Much to my dismay!)

Slooooow here too. The gallery, and picture intensive threads are an ordeal at the moment, to say the least.

You can see if the site is up for others at a given time by typing in this site's URL here:

As Jorge mentioned in the tapatalk thread, there are cost issues with separating out the db server from the web server, and the web server has some purpose built access limits for den. of service attacks.

If you post the time and your general location (or traceroute details - tracert in windows) it might indicate that a CDN service might help, although those cost as well.

When I reload, the text is there immediately. Then I have to wait a few seconds on the precision camera ad on the left. And then the icons begin to load but not very fast.

I notice it mainly in the gallery. I have it set to load 60 thumbnails per page and it generally hangs up after loading half of them and then very slowly loads the rest.

Everything else seems OK ... sort of. But then I have a pretty crappy broadband service.

Bad RFF is better than no RFF! :D

Very slow here... and time outs are not uncommon.

The RSS feed died in Google Reader this weekend too. it's back right now.
