Simple RF's and Flight Museum .

Thanks Bob , You are right ; those little rangefinders that most can pick up for pennies sure do shine . Lets just keep it a secret.

Tom

No, please don't keep them a secret.
There are too many beginners who are hoodwinked by the Leica siren-call already :D

These little cheap rangefinders are how I got started a couple of years ago, and I never once regret the experiences.

I like the shot of your son under the tank, he has that healthy amount of mischief in him as a boy that age should.

Looks like you're a fellow DFW dweller, we ought to meet sometime.

Hey Rover,

Our son is doing an Internship with Pratt-Whitney this summer just outside of Hartford...
This week he is flying with a friend's family (private plane) to Osh Gosh for the Air Show...they'll be there all week...actually they should still be flying as I type...

P&W is right next to me. If he needs a local contact or has any questions feel free to drop me a line.

They used to have a great air show every year. Their air strip was given by the company back to the state who built UConn's football stadium there, as well as leased a plot to Cabela's.

I drive by the plant every day.

Sam what a cool thing , he is going to learn so much. To me that's like being on the Sea for three month with the late Jacque Cousteau.

Good for him .

Tom

Thanks Tom & Rover...

He will be a Senior at MIT this year in the Aero/Astro Program there...
He's loved airplanes as long as I can remember...old and new...
I'm pretty sure he's at the plant in Middletown but living in East Hartford...
He's working with an Engineer that's designing the front cowling for one of their new engines...:D
And YES we are very proud of him...;):D

I see parts on the highways here all the time going from one P&W plant to another, or from a sub contracter to P&W. One of my customers at one point made cowlings for P&W engines. One piece from a solid block of an alloy specifically for that job. It was a huge item, built and shipped one at a time.
