I've never even heard of the folding 120 RF cameras before yesterday. Hey, I've got a closet full of Graflex XLRF's, so....

Anyhow, now I've got the bug. I didn't buy the Ikonta because a) I know nothing about them, b) at $350 it wasn't exactly an impulse buy c) I really like 6x6 instead of 6x4.5.

What I liked about the Zeiss Ikonta was it's size, shoots 120 film and that it was a rangefinder.

I know they made a 6x6 camera as well, and so did Voigtlander and others.

Recommendations? is there a site that I can visit that might help me learn the basics?

I'm planning to sell some Graflex gear to finance this little venture!

It looks like you figured out the A,B,C naming convention - then there are those numbers to look at. Here is a nice list

And I believe the Supers have a coupled rangefinder. I have a 532/16 which is quite nice - a bit of a chunky little ******* but finely engineered. There are various threads here I believe that detail aligning the rangefinder.

Usually the "super" moniker indicates a coupled rangefinder as Dave indicates but the basic folders with scale focus are the smallest and most compact. My Welta Weltax is smaller than many 35mm cameras and shoots beautiful 6x6 negs.

I also have a 521/16 with a 7.5cmf3.5 tessar lens and compur rapid shutter - has an albada finder - is smaller in all 3 dimensions and less massive than the super. The super also has a frame counter and will automatically stop at each frame (no need to use the red window past the first frame) where the 521/16 utilizes the red window. The super has a cold shoe and the 521/16 does not. I do not think my super synch's with a flash but the one you are looking at must based on its name. I know folks who like the simpler models. Different cameras all around but both are nice nonetheless.

I have a couple of Super Ikontas, one A in black and one B chromed. Also a "regular" Ikonta 6x9 (can't recall it's model number now). They are nice, but not my favourites. Especially the B (532/16) model, is _heavy_.
