Does anyone else here use Tumblr for photo blogs? I figured it would be an easy way to have a nice little travel blog. I hate how the format for a multiple photo upload looks though, so I just upload each photo individually.

Tell me what you think guys. And share yours too.

I'm using tumblr as the main channel since some months, and it is my favorite blogging/crowd sourcing platform overall.
There are some nice templates (not free) for photography blogs, and you can do your own design if you have time.

There are many very creative people there, great for the times when I need inspiration for new projects.

It is very simple, but easy to manage and flexible enough.
I have 3 blogs there, the photography one is www.thismightbe.me

I tried for a while but gave up and moved to blogspot, I wanted more control over image sizes and what I can contain in a post. I also get stats! :D

Anyway, nice tumblr and welcome to NZ, perhaps we'll come by each other.

Where do you live?

In Auckland

Ahh. Damn. I already went through Auckland. I'm in Tauranga now, and I'm going to head South. The plan is Rotorua > Taupo > Napier/Hastings > Maybe somewhere between Wellington > Wellington

I would also like to go to Cape Palliser, maybe before Wellington.

It's a shame you didn't go north of auckland for a while, it's really nice up there. I reckon it's nicer than other areas of the north island anyway.

How long are you traveling around for?

I've been here about a month, and I'll be here for a year. I plan to go down to the south island and maybe when I get to Queenstown fly back to Auckland and see the Northlands. I heard it was nice too. I just didn't get a chance.

Nice pics. I gather that the trip from NC to New Zealand was your
first airplane trip? I have friends who want me to fly to Bali from Tennessee in December. I don't think I can do it.

Yeah, NC to LA. I stayed in LA for two days then on to New Zealand.

You have never flown? It really isn't bad. Nothing bothered me except trying to sleep and my butt getting sore. Ha.

Nice blog... Very simple, easy on the eyes.

I tried to make a Tumblr, but it was too troublesome (for me). I'm now looking into some alternatives.

Wow really nice new tumblrs to follow!

I've got a photo tumblr as well: here's the link blog.stefanomattia.it, feel free to follow me :)

As for the image size: you can actually customize the look of your page in every possible way. I used to display my pictures at the maximum size, but now I'm back to the 500px format, it looks "prettier" I think. For now. I change my theme every other day ;)

I really like your photos (all B&W), and the size is perfect. I'm really tempted to start a blog about travel after viewing these.
