Like Drew above, I got my package today and discovered I had received Ilford HP5 instead. Was also told it's the same thing and why don't I just give it a try.

When I talked to Sarah in shipping she said they were out of Neopan so they just sent the HP5 instead. Now that's customer service - NOT.

Returning it tomorrow. Buyer beware. They are out of Neopan and will substitute at their discretion.

Edit: They did refund my credit card. However I had to pay for shipping back to them.

I called them on the phone about 5 minutes ago, ready to buy 50 rolls of it. Instead, they claimed to have 13 rolls in stock - I just placed my order for those last 13.

I think this deal is over. Too bad I didn't see this thread last week. And I'm really sorry to see the Neopan go extinct - I've been hoarding it whenever I can - bought 8 expired rolls from Camera Mart in Waterford, MI last weekend and 200' of bulk Legacy Pro. Neopan in HC-110 is just dreamy.

There is no firm indication that 135 format Neopan 400 is "going extinct". You can still buy fresh, in-date film from the other usual sources. But Fuji do tend to sell products until they are very nearly gone and then say "okay, it's discontinued", and sometimes even the way they announce that isn't very clear.

Well I just picked up my package from the post office and it was 40 rolls of HP5+. Looks like I'll be mailing it back to them. Too bad I missed the boat, I really love Neopan.

MPEX has out of date Neopan (02/10) for $2.75/roll. Just placed an order for 25 rolls, we'll see what happens.

Ground shipping takes it to a little over $3/roll.

Just received my shipment today (I ordered their last 13 rolls) - they sent 11 rolls of Neopan and 2 rolls of HP5+. Oh well.

Yes. Which admittedly is a good deal (they sell two packs for $5.75, so it's saving 1.75 a pack), but I just don't like HP5+. Sounds silly, I know, but I would rather have 10 rolls of something I like than 40 rolls of something I don't.

^---- How can anyone not like HP5+ ? It is indeed subtly different from Tri-X and Neopan 400, but all three are great films.
