Opinions: Best Under-$1000 35mm Scanner?

Ok, so I was able to acquire a sweet Epson V750 for just under 500, was that a good deal? As of right now, I only shoot 35mm and I don't know if I'll ever go into medium format. I'm not SUPER picky with how my scans come out, as long as they are pretty accurate. I don't expect it to be a pro lab type of scan. Do you think the V750 was good for that and is batch scanning easy?

V750 works great for 35mm as long as your film is FLAT.
Invest im some ANR glass that fit the Epson holders and spend some time to find optimum height of the holders. The film you use also makes a big difference in the quality of the scans you will get.
I have scanned Rollei Retro 80s and Agfa APX100 and the quality of the scans rival Leica M8 digital files for resolution and print size i can achieve.
Trix on the other hand is a completely different story because you start with curly negatives to begin with.
Can not comment on color film because i never shot a roll.

Here are the ANR glass inserts you realy NEED:

Last but not least: it will take some time to get to good Scans. Do not blame it on the scanner if the first trials are not up to your expectations.
