It Is What It Is
Going out on a day trip with my lady ,a festable/garden type of thing in the park I have two Canon P bodies Would you take both, each with a different lens? Perhaps one body with an extra lens. That seems easier to me. I'm thinking of a J-3 or a Canon 50 1.8 and a Canon 35 2.8 or a Nikkor 2.8cm 1: 3.5

I just know that whenever I take more than 1 camera/lens. I spend more time fiddling and less time taking pictures. I took a quick trip to Seattle, bought one camera and lens and shot more photo's than I ever have on a weekend vacation. And of those, I had a better keeper ratio.
I say bring one camera, one lens.

I would do the 50 and 28 or just the 35 and enjoy a glass of wine...

I agree....I used to own way too much equipment in 35mm (4 bodies, about 15 lenses), medium format (3 bodies, 11 lenses) and 4x5 (1 body, 4 lenses). Once I sold everything for one 35mm system with a few lenses and one medium format system with a few lenses, I found that I took more photos and spent less time stressing and trying to decide what I was going to take photos of. Your situation is obviously less, but I found that the less I would own or take with me, the more I shot. Today I use me Leica M6 and 28mm 75% of the time and could literally have that for the rest of my life and be happy.
What I have learned is that less equipment = more photos and often better photos. It's different for everyone though. If the extra bit of weight for the rest of the equipment is worth it for you and you'll get better shots, go for it. Only you can decide, really.

+1 to all the suggestions.
1 Canon P and (50 or 35, pick one) of your choice.

The hard truth is well received, Thanks -stress sucks!

My M5s need red dots!
If you want to show off your cameras, take the two with two different focal lengths. If you want to take photographs, just one with your favorite lens.
That's a lesson learned from a lot of times in which I agonized about which camera to use for a shot I lost because of thinking about what camera to display.
