Leica M - Post your Portraits

Really like this one. Wonderful subject, and heroic use of (lack of) depth of field.

Like all of them Michael but especially that monk (?) one last posted. What are you shooting for these? Have a wonderful 'filmness' about them.

Thanks a lot texchappy......I have been using a 35mm 1.2 nokton a lot lately with Kodak pro image 100......no pp or anything, just straight scans from my local lab

Great stuff there Michael!

Here are a few from one of the rainy moments in Shanghai's hot season:

I re-found some love for the amazing Voigtländer 35/1.2 - a truly remarkable lens!
i really have no idea, how many different 35mm lenses I really have, but I collected a like new copy of the v1 35/1.2 during my maniac search for the perfect 35mm and never really used it.
It now got some first time on the M9 and blows me away, as it is really very close to what the perfect 35mm would be like!

Some 'gritty' portraits from some recent fire training. M4 with Delta 400 developed in Ilfosol 3. cv 40/1.4 and 21/4

Wow John those 'Firemen in Training' shots are just GORGEOUS
Love the Tonal Range, so Beautifully Crisp & Lush Blacks
Though I think of them less Gritty...Quite Refined

Thanks Helen and Mr F. I'm really pleased with the feel as well. Delta 400 is my 'go to' at the moment for 35mm action. In this series I think each of the guys shows their own character in their form and function.

It's Delta 400? I would have never guessed, so grainy...

Nice shots tho'

Yeah, 400 iso 35mm always seems to scan 'grainy' on my Minolta Scan Multi-Pro (using Vuescan). The 100 iso aren't much better. They print finer though. 6x7's scan much better. It would be interesting to see how colour film scans at 400 iso.

I love the shots, but they seem really grainy or overly sharpened while being scanned. How are the negs? I've started to use Kodak pro 100 and it seems smoother than these.

Thanks for the compliment......the negatives look great and the prints that I have look good, but I had those prints made in Bangkok......so, I am going to get some large prints made from a top quality lab in the U.S. in the next couple of weeks and see the results.......

a couple more from Bangkok.....
