Hi

Does anyone know of a lab near Oxford UK who can process and scan films?

Would want both 35mm and 120, B and W and colour.

Thanks

Snappy Snaps on Cornmarket Street (the main shopping street) will do both, but the 120 is now sent away. They do 35mm on site. The only other places that I know of still taking film are Boots and Jessops and both send it away. I'd be very surprised if Boots do 120.

Can't really comment on the quality as I tend to use rubbish film and kit!

I'd go Peak in Sheffield for the 120 - though they could do with dusting occasionally, I have had the odd dusty neg back from them.

I've used Colorbase, Snappy Snaps, and Boots. No massive problems with any of them. The staff in Snappy Snaps are knowledgeable and friendly, I think one or more of them may be a member on this site. I've had very good results with 35mm colour film in Boots, also. Very clean film processing. They don't do 120, though.

He's moved on now - still in the UK, Kully might know where if he's about, but he's not in Snappy Snaps any more - or, if he is, he's very well hidden.

I live in Oxford and use snappy snaps a lot, I have had really good results from them in both C41 and BW. I am not sure who it is that does the actual processing there but they do a good job of tri-x, although I have had one or two dusty scans -nothing major.

Also, if you drop off a few rolls at a time you may find yourself in for a little discount ;)

You must mean Robert. You 're right, he's left Snappy's, he's working now as a stills photographer in big movie productions.

Snappy's is a good lab. I used to go a lot (often for the chit-chat) and the crew knew what they were doing. Raja, the owner, is also a good bloke.

Thanks everyone.

It looks like Snappy Snaps and the Banbury lab might fit the bill.

Ronnie, I'm spending most of my time in Oxford at the moment but I'll keep A&M in mind for Edinburgh work.
