Take a look at the NEW RFF Gallery

How do I add lenses NOT in the Lens selection page?

Like a Canon FL 50mm f/1.4

I tried to find a reply that had this answer, but found none.
Looks like a Mod or Admin job.

I can't speak for other mods, but I'll be glad to add a lens or film. I've already added some lenses that I know will be used in gallery uploads, but there are *many* not yet listed.

It needs to be done in a consistent fashion. Just PM me with the full and correct lens name and mount system, and I'll get it done.

The new gallery isn't user friendly toward fixed lens RF's or any other fixed lens camera like the X100 from Fuji. I also noticed the # of view's on everyone's photos are way down.

I like this new gallery, thanks for the work done, great work. Of course minor improvements will be possible. And I'll have to practice a little. I have one question: I would like to put a link in my signature pointing to my gallery: where do I find the URL to be inserted? Thanks for an answer, grazie ciao

Looks like you figured it out quickly, Robert, because the present gallery link in your signature works fine!

Pity 'Doug's RFF Gallery' takes you to my Gallery Link!
Doug does know.
We are both sure this shouldn't happen but don't know why it happens.
Needs to be checked from all ends of the 'system'.
Have sent second pm to Doug.
Always something!

Only partially, because I can point to my Albums/Collections but not to the other singles photo in the gallery...better than nothing anyway!

I haven't read thru this whole thread, so pardon me if this issue has been discussed. My favorite pastime is to look at random photos in the gallery. The new gallery software is a great improvment but I would like to see an extra refresh buttom at the bottom of the random photo page. This would save me from scrolling back up to the top after viewing a page of images. (or maybe someone has a trick to do this now)

Hi Angelo - Does your web browser have a menu command for "Reload" or "Reload Page"? Firefox, Chrome, and Safari do, on the View menu, and there's a related keyboard command. Will this serve your purpose?

Why not three fields: Brand, Focal Length & Aperture? Wouldn't this do the same thing eventually?

Angelo
The idea has merit, but there would have to be an additional field or two... How many different Leica 50mm f/2 lenses have there been, for instance?

One thing I miss is knowing immediately on loading the page whether or not I have comments on any photos. I'm not sure how I'd know if an older photo of mine has been commented on now.

Yoou should get emails with each comment

Thanks, that's good to know. Still, I think I would still appreciate the gallery being able to tell me if I have gallery comments, instead of having to check my email. It's when I'm checking the gallery that I'd like to know.

Is there a way to view say all photos taken with a J-3 so I might compaire with say a Canon 50 1.5? It seems that having such a function could be most helpful. Is doing such comparisons a do-able thing?

Well, Red Robin, I had in mind a way to do that, theoretically... Tried it. And right now I have two windows open on the Gallery, one showing J-3 pics and one showing Canon 1.5/50 pics. I'm sure you could do the same.

I liked the old version for its simplicity. I think it may take me some time to get used to the new version and who knows, I might be back.

That's OK. I read and remember it. I agree with you. I would add it looks silly for horizontals and verticals to be displayed at different sizes. I lament that you cannot filter for total views. The obvious preference for only RF lenses and complete lack of AF DSLR lenses in the database is to be expected but flies in the face of trends. Well. let's wait and see.

Programming work continues on the new Gallery, with a number of improvements already implemented. The lens database is being expanded. Now is a good time to offer constructive suggestions! :)

I added most all of the lenses that I have when the new gallery started, but I now need to add another lens to my exhisting list that is not on the master list and I don't know how to do that. Thanks! - jim
