Hallo,

I would like to start a thread about Lens design
(element layout), I have found this nice overview
of the most famous German lens types, I would love to
add different Japanese type as those from Olympus
and Nikon and some Russians and Chinese etc...

Anybody here with Japanese and English and American Lens layouts
for comparison puposes? Odd ball types as Atomic Atomar etc... ;-) welcome...

Does anybody have the layout of the Olympus Zuiko D, F, G ?
Is Helios 44 type of Lens (USSR) similar to the Sonnar and Jupiter 3 / 8 formula?

Best regards

Buy Cox's Optics, which gives LOTS of lens sections, and even more lenses with descriptions of what section they most closely resemble.

Remember too that many lens sections are copyrighted, and that reproducing them without permission is, in effect, theft.

Cheers,

R.

There's a lot of similarity between the Biotar and the Xenon. Interesting.
I definitely like both lenses. The Helios 44 can be quite good.
