California (Bay Area, Northern) Looking ahead to the Winogrand show at SF MOMA

Unfortunately, this exhibition will not be traveling close to me. I would love to be able to go. However, I will be attending the Cindy Sherman show in March in Dallas. But this is one show I really, really wanted to see. Like others, I suppose the book will have to do. I envy you guys on the West Coast who are going.:)

The Cindy Sherman show was fascinating. Mildly disturbing to some but I found it to be pretty good.

I wasn't familiar with Tod Papageorge until you mentioned him, interesting guy. I'll definitely be hitting his lecture.

Here's a nice interview with him if anyone is interested.

In addition to being member preview day, the 7th is a Thursday, when SFMOMA is open late. There's also a lecture by Tod Papageorge announced for 7pm.

From Pier24.org website:

"Lecture by Tod Papageorge

Wait, there's more:

"SFMOMA is pleased to offer half-price admission February 4 - March 15, 2013."

There is no "try" grasshopper. There's time before you go to Paris. Lunch next week? There's a Canon lens or two to show you.......

Plans have changed: No Paris this year, Lisbon and Seville instead. Will still try to make the Winogrand show... I hear MikeL is buying.:)

Good Sir, I purchased my once-every-seventh-year round of drinks the last time we met.

And I do believe our state politicians deemed March the official Sacramento Really Was Important In History Month. Aren't Sactoans like you and Bob encouraged to be generous ambassadors to those who don't live in the capital of the world's 8th largest economy?
