Wondering what interest there would be among us here for Double-X (5222) in 100' rolls, ready for bulk loaders. This would be factory made 100 footers, not home re-spools. Kodak has expressed an interest in doing this, and I've been given a preliminary price from the Kodak rep. There would be about 150 rolls total.

Any takers?

email me if interested: doublex (at) sepiareverb.com

Isn't it somewhat very expensive when compared to 20 arista rolls @ 2.89$ each or wgen compared to any other 100' rolls?

What is special about Double X?

Yes, a bit more than other film. There is much love for Double-X here, but as it only comes as 400 or 1000' rolls normally I thought this might be of interest. Doesn't hurt to ask.

DXX is 400 feet 365 bucks in Film emporium.. I have been satisfied with them and hand rolling staight from the 400 `spool in dark sitting on the bide`
dammit !!! It was $ 365 for two 400 ft cans... sorry, I wasn`t ripped off

I recently bought two 400' rolls of Double-X 5222 from Kodak Cinema & Television in New York City. Price was about $145 each plus shipping.

Works out to about $1.89 per 36 exp roll, plus the film cartridge and scotch or masking tape. Already have plenty of those items, so I figure $1.89 per 36 exp roll.

That's about $36.45 per 100 feet.

To OP, thanks but $100/100ft is too rich for my blood although I can understand why Kodak will have to charge like that .. extra cutting/ handling/ packaging/ storage/ shipping, administrative work, etc.

The Film Emporium price is currently $207.60 for 400' in 35mm. It was $180 last fall.

Kodak has stopped selling direct on their website but if the price is still $145 as mentioned above, perhaps you can go into business helping people outside the US get their hands on XX for a handling/administrative fee where the total cost is somewhat less than the Film Emporium price. Kodak overseas sales offices are gouging with no value added and the local order taker still has to order from the US with a 3 week lead time.

I'd go for it at a lower price point but $100 is pretty steep. The idea if having 100' rolls though is very appealing.

145$, that is very good price. Do you have an idea if they ship to Europe (Sweden)? If not, do you have any tips how to acquire 400feet cans for 150$ or similar price since Im based in Europe?

This is not going to happen. Apologies and a big thank you to those who expressed interest.

And apologies to those who took offense at our attempting to work out a special order for a film that seems to be liked not for what it is but rather for it's being able to be got on the cheap. Well, on the cheap or for more than this. Moron at work here.
