.........You'll never guess what I got in the post :D :D

Waking up too early I even cleaned the windows in the house to kill time. 10 minutes before midday! Can you believe it!

It's so ugly. I love it! I know I know, it's not made by Zeiss Ikon, shame on me, but it'll have to do

Everything appears to work properly, shutter sounds sooooo quiet that I'm deceived into thinking something is wrong with it, and of course MW CLASSIC were nice enough to remove one of the plastic things from the flash sync, so the camera came incomplete, and different to how it appeared on-site. That was generous of them.

Anyway, it's here in the nick of time. I'm so excited! I hope I like using it!

(that's my sister's coffee mug on the side, I was too excited to sort a properly composed image)

....page 3 has pics.

So where's the test shots ... c'mon you've had it a few hours now. You're a complete person now that you have an M2 Ash I like you much more ... you now have at least one redeeming feature! :D :D

you "hope" you'll like using it?! You will not want to use anything else! your other cameras will be gathering dust. :D

Keith, I've only had it for 30 minutes, not a few hours! Gimme the rest of the day for test shots. I want to pop into town and get a flash sync adapter too. That's your lens on the front of it as well!

Lubi, I sold most of my cameras to fund it!!

The plastic flash things can drop out if worn, check the packing carefully. Put the other cap in a keeper jar.

It looks real good for a 'cheap M2', you did not buy a collectors grade?

You need a hood, I liked the avtar as is was really soft and low contrast, you always need a hood with the 7 element crons, even when they are/were new, at least my two did 30 years ago.

P.S. You think Swindon has a flash adopter, I may have a spare if you PM?
P.P.S. the 1/15 should sound the same as the IIIC did a strange ping ping fizzzzz
and last edit, it looks more like a M2 than a GSM

No sign of the plastic thing in the packaging. The camera was wrapped in bubble wrap, so it couldn't have gone far. Oh well they aren't important :)
It's definitely not that good looking in reality. light scratches on the front of the viewfinder, dirt all over the shop, a chipped off piece of vulcanite (was described as such) and rough feeling frameline selector. Top plate shows a lot of brassing, and ink/paint has come out of much of the engraving, bottom plate is very well worn.

And Alkis, yes there was much rejoicing :D

It sure looks beautiful to me! Just something very graceful looking about the camera and underneath that glamor you know it is solid and a faithful performer.

Good job Ash!

Tom

Mine looks worse than the one you handled on Sunday... you can patch the vulc if it annoys handling.

Heh heh. It looks pretty good. Now save up and send it to CRR - you won't believe how nice it is after it's been there!

The initial 15 were Fchrome 200 - in the post to FuJi process lab back Sat 1st post, scan Sat if I'm not photoing demo.
2nd cassette in Dev tank 36 exp Delta 100 I can soup it this PM and scan tomorrow if you need.
3rd cassette FP4+ still in XA4 @ 12 used
4th cassette Fch 400, about three without a lens cap, still in Kiev4

We spent all our time stroking metal, eating and drinking... some were of you and friends various, rest of forum wold be impressed if I was a photog.

There is the distraction that i have 2x camera in post, both FSU Rngfdrs.

I may bring a motor on Sat to get through the film. A flash adopter needs 2+ hours searching...
