Hi there,

I'm just trying to gauge or get a sense of what the approx. resale value might be for a black kobalux 21/2.8 lens (with and without the finder)? These are so few and far between that it's hard to determine this by doing, say, an ebay check on completed items (there are none at the moment).

Thanks!

I payed $500 for my silver one. I would pay more for the black one since it focuses down to .7meters instead of 1 meter. That makes a big difference when trying to get up close with a lens as wide as the Kobalux. Anyway it is a fantastic lens. Wish they still made it. But I have mine so Na,Na,Na Naya :p

Was that including the finder?

I think I also heard that this lens goes by other names (Avenon, Bower); can someone please confirm? In other words, has anyone ever seen one of these and it *didn't* say "Kobalux" on it?

I sold my silver one (a version 2 closest focus 1M) for $650 last year. I don't think prices have changed too much since then. They may have gone up slightly since the advent of the M8. A good lens but big (takes 58mm filters). The finder is ridiculously big and suffers from barrel distortion. The lens is also sold under the labels Bower, Pasoptik and Avenon as well as Kobalux depending on market location.
