The time has come... to look at greener pastures.

I'm leaving for Costa Rica for a month and a few days, in the teaching pilgrimage I embark in every two years. I'll be within reach, but also within limits (no midnight postings, for instance, neither can I plunk some of my hard-earned cash on a silly little eBay purchase). I'll do my best to stay on top of things... at least lurking, but just not as often and not for as long as usual.

We'll leave on Wednesday, at 11 PM for the airport. Our flight departs at  3:10 AM. Why?

'Cuz it was cheap!

See you in Costa Rica! :)

BTW, to make this summer as fun as possible... I'll return on June 25th (very early in the morning), and will leave for Germany (again, like last year... ) on June 28th. Thankfully, I'll be back on July 12th... to start working on the 16th.

No rest for the wicked...

Oh, before you assume... the second trip ain't for vacations. It's family (my wife's). We take care of a very old relative and help her clean house.

Fransisco,
Hope you enjoy your sojourn to Cosa Rica! Looking forward to some photos when you get back!

This time I'm dragging only my Nikon gear (the stuff is heavy...), because I got a monster zoom that's not terribly slow. I may bring back some nice pics, Rob. Thanks! :)

enjoy the time out of Illinois.. as nice as the flatland is, it'll still be there when you come back

I envy your trip. Costa Rica is amazing for wildlife/nature/bird photography.

Have a great time!

Thanks for the good wishes. I will try to change my habits and send the film for developing sooner than usual, so as to scan the decent shots right away.

Ken, I'm taking the Tamron monster I showed you a while ago. In fact, I bought it with the CR trip in mind.

For Germany... it's Leicas only. In fact, I've decided that Europe is the land for wide-angles. My Elmarit 28 really does the job there, and at times I find myself longing for a 21...

BTW, I'll take some B&W along with my usual load of Fuji and Kodak slide film. Let's see what I can do with some Ilford FP4! :)

I'll stay in touch! :D

That's the neat thing about photography, you can freeze a memory anywhere in the world. Remember us when you take excellent pictures out there and drop us a snapshot or two whenever you can!

Vaya Con Dios!

The very best to you Francisco! Enjoy the experiences and photo ops. I'll be looking forward to your posts here when you have time and connectivity.

Well... I'm back finally and at last! :) I posted a few times from Costa Rica (never under the influence of an Imperial, of course), and right now I'm trying to get ready for my next trip, this time across the pond, to Germany.

Time to unpack! But it's good to be back! :D
