Asking Price Shipping Amount Condition
On Hold ($1,700.00) None Great
Description:

Great Condition Zeiss Ikon

Originally bought it on this forum 10 years ago.

I've probably only put about 20 rolls of film through it.

I had it serviced in 2013, where they replaced the leather, replaced the rubber around the viewfinder, and also fixed an electronic problem (camera wouldn't take photos even with a fresh battery). They also re-aligned the focusing during that service appointment. The camera is in perfect working order now. It hasn't been used since that appointment.

There's some slight wear on the film advance lever, there's a couple small scuffs on the back of the body, and the battery twist screw is a scratched up (could probably be replaced?). No mold, no fungus, viewfinder is cyrstal clear.

It's a beautiful camera. Asking price is $1700USD

Shipping cost will be determined based on where the camera is sent to. Payment from a verified Paypal address.

I also have a Zeiss 50mm f/2 planar available. It's in good shape, no mold or fungus - but the focusing ring doesn't turn smoothly, it needs to be lubricated. Asking price for this is $500USD

Hey everyone, I'm super new at this and just wondering if anyone has any tips on my posting. It hasn't recevied much interest.

Should I be trying to sell this on eBay instead? Or is there something piece of info I'm not including in my posting that I should be including?

I guess I should also mention that I'm flexible on the price, I just based it off of completed sold listings on eBay.

Thank you in advance to anyone who can share their wisdom Smile

eBay prices are usually higher since they net the sellers less money after fees.  Direct sales are usually a bit lower.

If the camera has been sitting unused for 7 years, it might be worth it to put a roll through just to test everything and communicate that to potential buyers.

For the lens, is it usable without having the focusing ring serviced?  The "needs to be lubricated" portion makes it sound like it needs work immediately.

Price is too high I think. Check out "sold" listings on eBay
