I recently switched over to Capture One 1220 and left Adobe except for CS6. The one thing I really miss is the CC tool to losslessly make a photo larger. I tried to use CS6 with little effect.
While learning the crop tool I found there was a way to enlarge the image with export process. I make the export size 24x36 “ and export. Enlarge to 100% still using 300 PPi so a small fraction of the photo can fit the screen. It was perfectly sharp down to some small paint defects on a home 300 feet away . Same with the smallest tree twigs.
I did the same test using a D700 Nikon with equally great results. That camera was the first try at 16x24.
I like film and still use my darkroom, but can not even get close to these results with 35mm film, 100 speed D76 1:1 with Leica enlargers. I am fairly certain it would take 4x5 to get the same results.
