Massachusetts Boston folk?

I'd like to propose perhaps a meet in Harvard Sq, maybe weekend. How about either next weekend (Nov 3/4), or the weekend following that (Nov 10/11)?

Anyone have a preference for Sat vs Sunday?

I may be available both those weekends, with a strong preference for Sundays. Are you proposing a luncheon meeting or a walkabout? If the former, you'll need to suggest a venue. Also, suggestions for parking would be most welcome.

Edit: Note, however, if the meeting is for youngsters, I'm definitely in the oldster category. Perhaps the oldest of the oldsters.

No age restrictions. Venue would depend on number of people. It looks like it's supposed to be chilly on Sun the 4th (50*F or so). I'd certainly be up for a photo stroll somewhere, and there's a great Tex-Mex/Craft Beer place in Allston called Sunset that would be great for lunch or dinner.

Any takers?

I'd be up for lunch on Sunday. Tex-mex is good. Will Sunset reserve a group table?

Interested, but hard to plan ahead because of uncertain travel. I'll keep watching, and if I can I will join whatever happens.

Dilip, you'll enjoy Harry's print! I'm enjoying mine.

Not sure about reservations -- I think they'd want a firm estimate in terms of numbers.

Also, since I'm not sure how robust the Boston area RFF community is, I'd say flexibility is a good thing. That, and it doesn't seem like there's been a huge response in this thread, so I'd estimate 3-6 people (though that doesn't include friends/partners).

Does Sunset get really busy on Sun afternoons? My experience has been it's usually not all that crowded except in the evenings, regardless of weeknight/weekend...

Let's see if they'll let us get a table for six at noon? If only four show up, there's still always a need for room for gear....

So then, the plan is tomorrow at noon to meet up at Sunset for beer and gear, and then figure it out from there?

Where are you guys sitting? I was there from 11:50 to 12:15 and went in and couldn't spot anyone. I'll PM you my cell.

OK, well, glad Aaron finally made it. It was a nice lunch with the three of us, and some pretty awesome beer. Cameras were shown: Harry showed his new RRS strap, I showed my new (to me) 40mm Summicron-C, and Aaron brought his Canon P and his IIIc, with its devil-may-care strap solution. I have looked into the abyss, and it looked like Spicy's Camera Strap.

These meetings are a bad idea; now I have a lust for that Summicron-C. Otherwise, it was great meeting up with these guys.

The Sunset is beer lovers paradise, dozens of exotic brands. I asked the waitress (just kidding) whether she had Bud Light; she gave me a stony look. No Bud. Settled for a Guinness. And Aaron won the door prize of an archival print of his choosing.

Really, some of you folks out there ought to make an effort to attend the next meet up. They're fun and educational, if you don't mind risking a GAS attack.
