For you Mac folks who have updated to Snow Leopard:
At the bottom right of any Finder window you'll see a slider that increases or decreases file icon size. It's a cheap and dirty way of scanning a batch of jpegs in a folder.
[EDIT: Of course, you need to display the folder in icon mode.]
