I grabbed the X 113 for a walk this morning, and my wife said: is that the camera I can use? So I put it on iso 400 and full auto with face detect. This is one of the lovely shots she got. I think I will get her a d-lux 109 this fall. She has really enjoyed my X, but that one is mine, haha.

LOL...:)

Nice!!!

Sounds like you both will be enjoying light-carry Leicas together!

Last two pictures in this thread are excellent!

Walking around with a small x camera is a real pleasure :)

@ Mudman: I bought a D-109 for my wife and it has a real good image quality. It is small and nice. Only drawback is that compared with my Leica x1 is much more complex with a many options menu and a more than 200 pages manual! The many buttons in a small place make easy to push them without wanting. Excellent camera which needs some attention from the photographer.

That might be problematic. The whole reason I think the X works for her is the simplicity. Perhaps I find an X2...

Once the rain cleared, we went for a walk tonight. The colors from the X typ 113 really are great, though the black and whites are stellar as well.

A lot of wonderful work here, demonstrating the continuing worth of these cameras. I had an X1 for a long time, replaced it with an x113, sold that, and now have another 113 on the way to me. It's a joy to shoot with and has helped me recapture a bit of my black and white way of seeing. Wonderful little machines, all of them.

Let me try to give some life to this old thread! A dark and wet day here, the small size of the Leica x1 makes it ideal to keep under the coat and take out for a quick photo. So I went for a short walk in my neighborhood...

Fun to see your 'hood Robert and nice images. Weather similar to our typical winter weather but this year has been anything but for us. X1 is such a nice Leica. Thank you for sharing.

I had and used one for some time, and there are some pics on page 15, 16 and 18 of this thread taken with X Vario. Wonderful camera!

Can't believe it's been 2 years using an X camera! Here's the new to me x1 this morning. Trying to decide if I bother sending it to the mother ship to have the internal battery replaced.
