1533 difference between earliest and latest s/n's. Not many at all, and I think due to manufacturing defects etc. its unlikely Nikon used every serial number in the block, so maybe the actual number of lenses is only 90% to 95% of that.

I have! I got it off eBay from a chap in Japan in March last year. RFF puddle indeed.

181326 with a "C" was recently sold at the Tamarkin auction (Sadly. I didn't win it and the search continues...)
