Of all the M digital images I have seen, the ones coming from the M8 are unquestionably the ones I enjoy most.

Nice work here.

The M8 is a truly special camera. I've spent almost 1 year with the M10 and I can say that I'm bonding with it but I can't seem to move on from the M8 completely.

I like the colours, I love how it slows down my shooting, and l prefer how it meters vs the M10. And when it nails the shot, it really really shines :)

I had a 2 - 3 year long "digital phase", around 2011. Now I just re-discovered a folder with several A3-size prints I had made from M8 files. Among them, the three images below. I must say I am impressed by the print quality, despite the relatively large size. Wasn't it a 10Mp camera? I remember disliking its noise and slowness, but surely nothing to complain when it comes to IQ..

So I bought an M8 in 2021. It's funny, I tried it in a shop when it was released in 2006. And now I finally have one... added a Nokton 35/1.4 II as "normal" lens. All in all it's great, I just hope it will continue to work for a long time.

It does not snow in Astoria. But it did for Christmas this year. A very granular snow, almost sleet, but it is white and it covers the ground and fortunately the local folks have stayed away from the icy, slippery streets, for now.

M8.2, Canon 28mm LTM F/2.8 @ f/2.8 1/8 second.

I love the M8(.2). It makes me look better.

I took this same picture later with a Sony A7M III. It does not look as nice. I know that it is a more modern camera and so on. But the old M8.2 with its CCD sensor and some sort of magic just makes a slightly less accurate much more enjoyable picture. And in this case, for sure, I do prefer the tired old Leica, hands down.
