Good day/afternoon/evening /night. I've got here a Minolta Af-Tele Super, it used to work around a few months ago, and I've just bought new batteries for it. I put it in and tried it out, it won't fire anymore. I tried cleaning the battery port, cleaning the lens, and cleaning the battery. yet nothing works.
Does anything on the camera work? Is it only the shutter that does not fire? That would indicate the battery is making contact and the shutter is stuck.
If nothing works- then there is probably a short in the electronics.

Not uncommon for that class of camera, it could be caused by any number of factors, including foreign substance jamming a mechanism, long-ago battery leakage still wreaking havoc, plastics which have become brittle with age and developed cracks, or flexible PCB which has developed cracks from being flexed one time too many. May be possible to repair, depending on your skill level.

Is film loaded? Is lens cover open?
Try to point it to the bulb (lamp) close by and see if it will take exposure.

Sorry for the late reply, I've tried a few methods I've seen on google. Nothing really seems to work for me, so I'll probably just get something else. Such a shame, everything else worked perfectly.
