Nikon F6 serial numbers - post yours!

Nice Chris!

IMHO, we should not put people on a pedestal. Clearly, equipment is not created equal, so, yes, by all means, compose in any manner you want and we appreciate your sharing!:)

Can anyone tell me whether or not there is some kind of delay (sluggishness?) with the light meter of the F6 when going from one type of lighting to a different one?

Thank you

Indeed! As I posted in the other F6 thread, with my son using my F6 at the present perhaps its time I purchased another one. With my son a budding and enthusiastic film photographer, there is room for two F6s in the family!

I'm jealous of that 28mm f1.4 lens you've got on the left F6 Chris.

Best,
-Tim

It's a real keeper. I have come to appreciate the 28mm focal length relatively late in life, and to still have some ability to limit DoF with an f1.4 28mm is just icing on the cake. It and the 85mm are my most used Nikon lenses.

Some days ago I've seen a picture of an F6 bought this year with a serial number of 0035595.
That is the highest number I have personally seen so far by myself.

I continue to enjoy my F6 :).

I quickly checked eBay for used prices and the first F6 i See is coupled with a 17-55/2.8 Nikkor. That is a DX lens designed for a 1.5x crop...

I got my F6 new from B&H about a month ago S/N 0035636. Best film camera I've ever owned!

Congratulations!

This is the latest serial number I've seen so far.
Looking at all serial numbers published in the last three years, and also considering the publishing and purchase dates, it looks like this year the demand for the F6 has increased.
That would be good.

My used mint early F6 just arrived from Japan: 6503. Was on my list for a very long time. Used ones do not pop up very often here in Switzerland. Feels great in hand. Just like it the way it is without the grip.

Yay! That is going to be a great experience for you! Mine came from Japan and I could not have been happier with any other!!! Enjoy!:):):)

David - thanks for that! Film is loaded meanwhile. I almost skipped the whole motor drive thing with film cameras back in the day, so I was in for a positive surprise.
Film leader out on rewind - no problem. Film loading - super simple. Motor drive advance - not even sure I hear it in single frame advance. It seems one with the shutter sound. Crazy.

On facebook in the F6 user group a new member has just recently bought a brand new F6 with serial no. 35714.
That is the highest serial number I've seen so far.

After being on backorder for a long time I received a new F6 from B&H on 5/16/19. They only got one. It is serial number 35696 and it's magnificent!
